Women’s Health Event Comes to the Tampa Bay Area as Part of a Nationwide Pelvic Health Education Campaign

Trinity, Florida ( February 5, 2009) – One out of three women in the United States (about 35 million) will experience pelvic health issues by the age of 60. A series of free educational health events called The Sisterhood Health Forums are helping to educate women around the country about these frequently misunderstood problems. The eleventh stop on the nationwide tour is scheduled for Trinity Florida on February 19, 2009 at Heritage Springs Country Club.

The Sisterhood Health Forums are presented by The Pelvic Health Foundation in partnership with Community Hospital-The Future Medical Center of Trinity. The events feature expert speakers and educational booths. Wine, appetizers and dessert are served. To reserve a seat call 866-549-3250 or register online at www.SisterhoodHealthForum.com.

The goal of these events is to help women understand that they don’t have to live with the life-restrictions associated with conditions like overactive bladder (OAB), incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, menorrhagia, and fibroids.

“Since we started holding The Sisterhood Health Forums in 2006, every event has been booked to capacity,” said Dr. Raymond Bologna. “Clearly, women are looking for ways to learn more about pelvic health issues. The forums are providing a comfortable environment for women to get educated about these conditions. That’s why we decided to bring the forums to women across the U.S.”

Dr. Bologna is a urologist specializing in female pelvic medicine and the co-creator of The Accidental Sisterhood Progressive Plan, a self-healing therapy program that is highlighted at the forums. This conservative treatment plan, along with drug therapy and surgical treatment options, are included in the information presented to attendees.

Continues Dr. Bologna, “Women don’t know the facts about what’s happening to them because they don’t talk about it – even with their physicians. Many women assume that this is what happens when you have kids and grow older. The Sisterhood Health Forums are helping to break down the barriers and get women talking about traditionally taboo topics.

“The forums allow us to reach thousands of women with information that will help them live fuller, happier lives. The women who attend laugh, cry, and hear the success stories of those who took the steps to deal with their pelvic health issues. There’s no better incentive to act than having firsthand accounts that prove solutions exist.”
